Rabbit
TV Series
A wild girl comes running out of the forest and gets hit by a car. No past, no records, no ID. Just a name: Rabbit. She’s dumped at a decaying rural care home, where the manager tries to work out where she came from – abuse? captivity? a cult? or worse? But out there beyond the fence, dark forces from her past are circling, keen to drag her back, snuff her out, before she gives away their secret – an illicit market in human lives, an atrocity lurking right beneath the surface of our so-called civilization.
Originally developed as a feature script, we have decided to extend the format to a TV series in order to explore the wonderful world that Simon and Alasdair have created. The show focuses on themes that feel more relevant than ever: adapt or die, nature vs nurture and wilderness vs civilisation — all the while echoing the poetic realism of shows like Twin Peaks and asking a simple question: where does Rabbit come from? We hope to hook our audiences with a great and entertaining mystery like Mare of Easttown.
