Cosmonots
Animated Series
Somewhere behind the iron curtain, as the regime crumbles around them, a mismatched trio of cosmonauts wait to be blasted into space. It’s a glorious people’s socialist workplace comedy that’s out of this world - or it will be if they can just get the damn rocket to work.
Cosmonots is an existential animated sitcom about three people never making it to space. The Sit is a crumbling Cosmodrome in a carefully unspecified Communist state. The Com blends bleak absurdism with workplace comedy, adds a dash of nerd culture and serves it up ice-cold in a leaky Soviet vessel. It’s a dangerously unstable comic fuel, as indebted to Franz Kafka or Samuel Beckett as it is to The Office and BoJack Horseman.
