When his tiny island’s school is threatened with closure for having too few pupils, recently widowed farmer Craig is damned if they’re going to send his daughter away to a school on the mainland.

The Big Sheep is a feature film based on the novel L’Incroyable Histoire du Mouton qui Sauva Une Ecole (The Incredible Story of the Sheep Who Saved a School) by Thomas Gerbeaux and Pauline Kerleroux.

Creative Team

Michael Caton-Jones is a Scottish director. His credits include the World War II film Memphis Belle (1990), the romantic comedy Doc Hollywood (1991), the biographical drama This Boy's Life (1993), the historical epic Rob Roy (1995), and the action thriller The Jackal (1997). His latest film, Our Ladies, was nominated for a Scottish BAFTA and released via Sony Pictures International.

Simon Lord is a screenwriter. His debut feature film Jellyfish premiered at Tribeca and picked up awards from Edinburgh to Rome to Dinard, before being released theatrically to four and five star reviews. His second, road comedy Above The Clouds premiered at Austin Film Festival and is being released by Gravitas.
