Writer and Director
Jo Ingabire Moys is a Rwandan-British writer/director whose debut short film Bazigaga was nominated for a BAFTA in 2023. A child of two cultures, she moved from Africa to South London as a teenager, attending an all girls school in a wealthy neighbourhood, not too far from her humble abode. Drawing from her own very awkward, embarrassing, painful memories of straddling two oppositional worlds during her teen years, Afrokicks is her take on what the search for identity in London looks like.
