Struggling

TV Series

Struggling is a fictional retelling of Sam and Jack’s own story, volunteering for and helping to establish Extinction Rebellion. It takes an affectionate look at a small group of determined climate activists who have big things to say about the world today. Though their movement is growing, they lack the bridge between ambition and ability. As internal disagreements threaten to tear the group apart, personalities clash, factions squabble, tensions escalate, and, on the streets, people are getting arrested, gluing themselves to buildings, smashing windows. Can they stay in control?

This was a competitive pitch that Braintrust won amongst a number of production companies. We believe we can find a balance between lampooning the absurdity of climate activism while also drawing attention to the very real problem of climate change (sorry, deniers!). We are hopeful this is fresh and timely comedy will be an enticing proposition for buyers.
